The show ‘Money Heist’ is a piece of art that has enjoyed an enormous worldwide popularity but, unfortunately, a lot of internalised sexism goes unchecked in such celebrated series. As a huge fan of Money Heist, in this blog, I review the show from a feminist perspective and deconstruct multiple examples of irresponsible writing.
Hijabis Fight Back
Over the course of the last weeks, there has been a significant level of mobilization among Belgium’s Muslim community under the hashtag #hijabisfightback. The reason? A recent ruling of the country’s highest court that permits institutions of higher education to ban the wearing of visible religious, political and philosophical signs on their premises, namely the Haute Ecole Francisco Ferrer (HEFF).

There are a lot of platforms through which celebrities choose to voice their opinions. J.K. Rowling, the famous writer of the Harry Potter franchise, has in the past few years tweeted a lot of questionable content but the tweets in the past month have raised a lot of concern among her fans and the LGBTQ+ community in general.
