I always saw crying as a way of caving into my emotions, a weakness so to say. For years and years, I bottled everything up. But now, in lockdown, I have finally given myself permission, I have finally allowed myself to feel.
A relevant number of children and teenagers provide informal care in Europe. Girls mostly assume this role and the most intensive tasks. Being a young carer moreover has been associated with experiencing worse mental well-being.
People often – falsely – assume that AI and machine learning technologies are uninfluenced by prejudice and other negative human traits. This is not the case. Algorithm are designed by humans and their unconscious biases will be reflected in the data that they collect and curate, as well as in the logic of the algorithms they create.
